O-Cinema is a brand new Wynwood based establishment and seemingly, an amazing new project that has much promise for Miami’s budding culture and arts scene. It actually opens next week with an inaugural screening of independent movie Mississippi Damned (trailer above).
O-Cinema will be dedicated to bringing theÂ best in indie, foreign, art, and niche films to Miami’s urban core -Â making sure that Miami doesn’t get left out in the coldÂ from a film perspective.
Their lead in featured movie, Mississippi Damned, is based on a true story thatÂ unflinchingly speaks to the life, struggles, abuse and hopes of an African American family and the strong women that hold it together.Â There’s a synopsis, trailer, show times, and a link to buy tickets ($7.50 to $10.50) over on their website: www.o-cinema.org.
