2010 DJ Of The Year
Can you really deny this? DJ Irie is what a lot of DJs aspire to be. He’s what a lot of regular people aspire to be. Happy doing what they love doing and getting recognized and paid for it. Irie has had a hell of a year. Not many DJs can go on to say that they have an NBA Championship ring. Even now, many would kill to be the official DJ for the all new beefed up version of the Miami Heat. But Irie has accomplished so much more this year. He’s continued his yearly Irie Weekend festivities, along with associated charity efforts on that weekend and throughout the year. Irie also partnered up with Levinson’s Jewelers to create a “Peace Thru Music” jewelry line that’s benefiting the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Dade. And musically, Irie’s been spinning everywhere, locally and beyond, including his stint as Jamie Foxx’s official tour DJ. And lastly, how many DJs can say they’ve been honored by the City Of Miami or any major city for that matter. Earlier this year, Irie was presented with an official commendation from the City (photo above). Overall, 2010 was definitely Irie’s year. 2011 and beyond will definitely be even more incredible for him I’m sure.
