2010 Interview Of The Year
Growing up, Nas was my idol. My favorite rapper and all. Even when I “attempted” to be a rapper, he was my biggest influence. But above all, I was just a fan. And when my dreams of being a rapper eventually died off (lol), I stepped into the world of journalism and I always hoped to interview Nas one day. That was my main goal as a journalist. And yes, I consider myself a journalist, haters. But yeah, so I never got a chance to meet Nas or let alone interview him until I got the opportunity late September of this year while at Club Play. The homie Abebe Lewis from Circle House did me a solid and set up a quick interview with him. I was a little star struck, but was ready to get the interview going on as I’ve prepared for years for this interview. Everything was good and ready to go except for one unforeseen element. The always hilarious Larry Dogg swooped in like a ninja and stole my interview. I didn’t even get a word in. So what you see in the video is really Larry Dogg having a frank conversation with Nas while using me as the guinea pig cameraman, thus me titling the video “A Conversation With Nas”. Ah man Larry. Wow. I still got love for you though. And even though we don’t do many interviews on The305, this was definitely worthy as the top one.
