Grammy Award winning artist Pharrell Williams will be introducing the local Miami musician Cris Cab poolside at the Fontainebleau’s nightclub, Arkadia, Friday, December 17, 2010. The 17 year-old Miami native, Cab has been writing music for the past three years and is currently recording his first album. His recent performances include multiple venues in and around the Miami area, as well as shows in the Bahamas. Cab cites his Cuban descent and his frequent visits to the Bahamas as part of the inspiration for his unique musical sound, which draws on reggae, as well as hip hop and rap influences. “I’ve been singing since I was born…music is my passion,†Cab says. The performance will take place poolside on Friday, December 17 at 8pm, at Arkadia, the newest addition to the Fontainebleau Hotel, located at 4441 Collins Ave. on Miami Beach. In addition to Cab’s performance, the evening will feature a live set by DJ Rascal.
Williams, the lead vocalist of the band N.E.R.D. and one half of the record production duo “The Neptunes,†will show his support for the emerging artist and introduce the show. Williams, as part of “The Neptunes,†has produced a number of hit singles for artists including Jay-Z, Madonna, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Snoop Dog. Williams and his Neptunes producing partner Chad Hugo have earned three Grammy Awards and ten nominations.
