I’ve been working on this Uncle Al tribute article for the past couple weeks….well, here it is

The 9th anniversary of DJ Uncle Al’s passing came by this past September 10th. And even though I missed the actual date, I still wanted to work on an article in remembrance of him and his contribution to the Miami hip-hop scene. I ran the idea by the New Times and it was a go. I made a couple calls and sent a couple emails, and got a couple statements from people like DJ Khaled, Pitbull, Trina, Cool & Dre and other local people in the hip-hop scene – basically, stating their best memory of Al and his legacy. I also spoke briefly with DJ Krunch One, who was one of Al’s closest friends and fellow Sugar Hill DJ. Click below to read the article.
