The 9th anniversary of DJ Uncle Al’s passing came by this past September 10th. And even though I missed the actual date, I still wanted to work on an article in remembrance of him and his contribution to the Miami hip-hop scene. I ran the idea by the New Times and it was a go. I made a couple calls and sent a couple emails, and got a couple statements from people like DJ Khaled, Pitbull, Trina, Cool & Dre and other local people in the hip-hop scene – basically, stating their best memory of Al and his legacy.
