On June 15, 2010 Vanessa James (former mid-day radio personality, Marketing Director and Music Director of 103.5 The Beat Miami) celebrated the much anticipated launch of her new company Vanessa James Media. Vanessa James Media is a comprehensive, interactive, and experiential media company which leverages Vanessa’s versatile talents in music, fashion, television media correspondence, live endorsements, event promotion, and voiceovers as a complement to her successes in radio. The site is now live at www.vanessajamesmedia.com.
The launch party, held at the stylish Grass Lounge in Miami’s Design District attracted a plethora of supporters including international reggae artist Shaggy, R&B Soultress Teedra Moses, Miami Dolphins playmakers Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, and Kendall Langford, as well as tastemakers in fashion, music, and entertainment and of course hundreds of her loyal Beat listeners. Beat listener and marketing executive, Jessica Taylor-Smith said, “I had to come out and support my girl. I miss hearing her every day on the station; she got me through my work day with all the gossip, fashion alerts, and adviceâ€. R&B, Hip-Hop, and Old School station WMIB-FM 103.5 The Beat unexpectedly flipped to 103.5 Super X, a Spanish oldies format on May 14, 2010.
Amongst the first to call on Vanessa James Media services, the American Airlines Arena to promote the Maxwell concert on June 14, reggae-inspired clothing company CY (Cooyah) Clothing and International record label VP Records. Vanessa will be an official endorser of the CY brand and will be featured in the upcoming ad campaign with The King of Soca, Machel Montano. VP Records will enter into a promotional partnership with Vanessa James Media to advance their many artists, including Jamaican breakout star Gyptian, singer of the international hit “Hold Yuhâ€.
When asked what prompted the development of the company, Vanessa notes “I always knew there was a void in the market place that I wanted to fill with my passion for fashion, music and media. While working at the station, I would get asked to do a lot of fashion events and other hosting gigs that I couldn’t say yes to so I created the opportunity to serve clients, and my obsession, with Vanessa James Media. I’m excited for my new chapter and I’m so thankful to South Florida for being there to watch me grow.”
VanessaJamesMedia.com is a compliment to www.VanessasVoice.com which was launched in 2009. VanessasVoice.com showcases her national voiceover portfolio.
