This is just speculation, but apparently, Pitbull is canceling his May 31st concert in Phoenix in what seems to be him protesting Arizona’s passing of their recent Immigration Bill. There have been mentions among numerous groups of influential entertainers that there should be an all out boycott of Arizona. Here’s what his official Facebook status update says:

Pitbull: I am canceling my concert in Phoenix on May 31… How is the country we enjoy and love bcuz of its human rights, freedom, opportunity and that has been built by immigrants, now start 2 deny them??.. It is contradicting 2 everything the USA stands 4…. official details soon

Dro’s opinion: I can’t speak on the new law as I haven’t read it, so I have no opinion on the law itself. However, I think by canceling the concert, its only going to leave Phoenix fans disappointed and saddened that they don’t get to see one of their favorite artists. Not only that, but if this and other concerts and events like the NBA All Star game boycott Phoenix, its only gonna hurt Arizona’s state and local economies. And in these troubling times, lots of people are hurting. So I don’t know, doesn’t seem like a boycott is the best thing to do here at this very moment in time. But I do understand that sometimes you have to stand for what you believe in. I don’t know, what do you think? Drop a comment below…
