R.I.P. to Miami radio legend, Bo Griffin who passed away yesterday – Power 96 holds a special tribute show for her

A big rest in peace goes out to Miami radio legend Bo Griffin. I remember Bo as a little kid, hearing her voice on the radio I think on the Mindy & Bo Show or I think it was the Ty, Laz & Bo Show. I forget which one but I do remember her and listening to her all the time.

Yesterday, she passed away from intestinal cancer at the age of 51. What’s crazy is that she never knew she had cancer up until 5 weeks ago when she reportedly was having back pains. And next thing you know – 5 weeks later and she’s no longer with us.

My condolences to her family, her fiancé, her friends and all of her former and current colleagues. She was set to move to L.A. to pursue some hosting opportunities and recently sold her boutique in the Carolinas in order to do so.

And a BIG shout out to DJ Laz and Ivy for putting together a GREAT tribute show this morning. From playing old freestyle classics, to resurrecting old clips from the 80’s and 90’s of Bo and crew from their golden years on the Power 96 airwaves. They even had Mindy come in for the show to reminisce. Along with Mark Mosely (the voice of Tyrone, lol) and everyone just had a great time talking about their memories with Bo. Even relative newcomers to the Power 96 family Ivy and Lucy Lopez both shared stories and words of inspiration from the life of Bo Griffin.

Rest In Peace, Bo.
