Apparently there’s some conflicting accounts of what the University Of Miami states is the reason for the lack of participation for Rakontur’s upcoming documentary The U, which premieres next week – December 12th @ 9PM on ESPN. Read below for the mini-controversy play-by-play courtesy of Rakontur’s blog. Click here to read

The Air Jodan 2010’s - These have honestly grown on me. Yeah it’s a really left field design, but I’m kinda starting to dig them. I will definitely buy these when they release. Well, if you like them as well and want them a little earlier than everybody else and want to wear them earlier than even Dwayne Wade is allowed to wear them – you can spend about an extra $100 to get them from Marquee Sole. Click here to purchase.

And I quote….
“…Ferris Bueller x Rick Ross. Prof. Bueller aka Relax & take note aka “I’ll show you how” teams up with Rick Ross aka RAWSEtta Stone. RAWSEtta Stone is one of the world’s top 5 rappers. His comprehensive lyrics provides fashionable learning for swaggerless individuals. Using a natural method that teaches new jacks directly, without translation how to dress. That means no more confusing trends & fads with his mind-numbing vocabulary & style for you to memorize. F.luxury.B pins coming real soon. Rick Ross’s 32 oz’s coming real soon…”

Taken from the Miami Herald. A little recount of R. Kelly and Puffy taking over our city for a couple hours at a time…
(MIAMI HERALD – Micheala Hood) – This holiday weekend, two of R&B and hip-hop’s biggest names chose Miami as their party destination. Part-time Star Island resident Diddy, known for throwing famous white parties, hosted a black party on Friday at Mansion in honor of the biggest holiday shopping day of the year.
Hmm, we wonder what the hip-hop star wants for Christmas?
Perhaps love is on his wish list.
The handsome actor/singer generously posed for pics with several eager ladies before heading out around 3 a.m. But his weekend didn’t stop there.
The party boy attended R. Kelly’s concert Saturday night at the James L. Knight Center. The concert was part of Kelly’s Ladies Make Some Noise tour.
At the show, the sexy crooner gave fans a sneak peek of songs from his new album, Untitled (in stores Tuesday). But most ladies seemed more into his older hits, including I’m a Flirt and Bump N Grind.
Diddy tweeted about his friend’s performance, “At rkelly concert in miami! He’s rippin this s— down!!!!”
Kelly later hosted an album release party at Karu & Y where ladies tried to sneak into the VIP section to get up close to the Chicago native. However, the Down Low singer kept to himself, shying away from reporters and cameramen on the red carpet.
Even though Alicia Keys & Jay-Z are killing it with “Empire State Of Mind” – you can’t help but still have that special soft spot for the original NYC hip-hop anthem, Nas’ “NY State Of Mind”.

Heeeezy….lol…or whatever LL Cool J says at the beginning of his verse. But this is one of the most classic remixes ever and if I’m not mistaken, really was what really signaled in Bad Boy as a force to reckoned with.

Here’s a new leak from Pitbull featuring Rock City and produced by Lil Jon. I am pretty positive this is a really rough version of the song due to the mixing quality, as well as the fact that Pit shouts out E-40 in the beginning, so E-40 probably still needs to be added to this. Listen/download below…

I had to do a part two of the video I posted earlier. Gil Green, a Miami native is no stranger to anyone in the hip-hop world. He’s one of the most sought after video directors and has orchestrated dozens of videos in just the last year with all kinds of artists from all over the place. But he also took on a more interesting project – the production of a video intro for the 2009-2010 Miami Heat. I posted the video this morning and I could not stop watching it. And then I run into this story in the Sun Sentinel with Gil Green talking about the project and these amazingly dope portraits (click on the thumbnails above to enlarge). Both the video and the portraits have a “BlueNote/1950/Jazz Album Cover” theme. Read below as the Sun Sentinel catches up with Gil….
As we mentioned a couple days ago, Birdman was having his album release party at Cameo with the entire Cash Money family. We have a photo of Birdman at that party with Lil Wayne and Bow Wow (who recently signed to Cash Money). Click on photo to enlarge.
Other notables that appeared included Mack Maine, Scott Storch, Cool (from Cool N Dre) and our homie Derick G. The above photo was taken by Seth, but Derick also had a few other shots from what I assume are stills from video, where you can see below that include a shot of Lil Wayne’s new tattoo on the left side of his face (LWHQ). We’re starting a new series. We’re gonna start featuring these McDonalds commercials by DJ Khaled that are done locally for 99 Jamz. I have about 5 or 6 of them that I never had the chance to put up. Well, here’s the most recent one and it features a passionate ode to the “McCafe”. Too hilarious. Khaled honestly needs to do some skits on his album because this is pure gold…

This is really really dope segment done for the Miami Heat’s 2009-2010 season. @Aubreyanne from OnTheFlipside mentioned on Twitter that this is the video reel they use for the team intro at home games – unfortunately I’ve been slacking and haven’t gotten a chance to check out a game yet at the Arena…so…I just recently ran into it. Too dope!
Yeah, LMS is a problem. Yeah, he’s not following the blueprint that most artists are following nowadays – but that’s what makes him who he is. Easily one of the most commanding voices in hip-hop, he has the potential to go far. Let’s see where he takes it. Here’s a new one featuring Saheed, Reks and Sylvia James – produced by Ozny.

These drop Friday November 27, 2009 (yes, Black Friday) at Jordan Brand retailers everywhere. I personally liked the previous retro, but that’s just me. Get ‘em while you can…
Obviously this is a non-305 post, but Lupe is one of my favorite emcees and I had to show love on this one. And the artwork that was released by Lupe’s camp sucked so Mr. 2Dopeboyz himself, Shake, designed the above cover to accompany the release. Tracklisting and download link below…

I know the above photo has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but its one of my favorite photos from a photoshoot I did with the lovely Erika Ivette. Either way, Happy Thanksgiving to all reading this. Hope you and your family enjoy yourselves today and all weekend for that matter. As for The305.com, Its been a hell of three days. I am pretty sure that if you frequent The305.com, you may have noticed that the site was either down or tagged as being under a “malware” attack.
Long story short, The305.com was attacked by a malware virus of some sort – actually TWICE in two days. Not sure where it came from but point is, it looks like the worse is over. The forums should be active within the next day or two. I am keeping my eyes open in case something springs back up. But just take notice, that is safe to log on The305.com. Please spread the word that The305.com is back online and that if for whatever reason we are down at any point, its only temporary.
I will definitely resume to normal updates between tonight and tomorrow for Black Friday all day. And remember to head over to Shoe Gallery in Downtown for their 40% Off Everything Black sale. I heard D.A.D.E. wear will have tons of goods as well out there. Click here for details.
Thanks again for continuing to visit the site and thank you for all the support.
