As you may have already heard, the University of Miami (20) whooped up Georgia Tech (14) last night at Landshark Stadium in a game that ended at 33-17. This has been called a “Sweet Revenge” victory, making up for the Hurricane’s loss to Georgia Tech last year.
“Everyone was talking about the schedule being tough,” said UM safety Randy Phillips. “But hopefully the country will start noticing we’re here to ball. We’re fast, we hit hard, and we’re going to Blacksburg next.
This is the first time that UM gets back-to-back victories in the first two games of the season against ranked opponents since 1988.
“It was a tough game,”‘ Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson told the Miami Herald. “We pretty much got beat in every facet of the game. We could never get them off the field.’”
Next week, UM faces Virginia Tech (13).
