Former award-winning Miami Herald writer Peter Bailey discusses legendary hip hop artist Trick Daddy’s soon to be released autobiography on My33’s Emmy-nominated show “Focus On South Florida†this Sunday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m.
Peter Bailey, 28, known for his award-winning profile stories on unsung heroes in Miami’s impoverished inner city as a former staff writer at The Miami Herald drew the attention of the legendary hip hop star two years ago after a series he wrote detailing black on black violence. Trick was moved by the manner in which Bailey’s stories depicted the plight of the city’s poor. After being courted by many publishers, Trick’s harrowing life story was acquired by MTV Books. The book, Magic City: Trials of a Native Son, is what Bailey calls the “story of black Miami through Trick’s eyes.â€
In the My33 interview Bailey calls Trick “the most authentic artist in hip hop†and goes on to discuss the rapper’s hopes of bringing awareness to Lupus research as well as Trick’s desire to create a mentoring program for teenage mothers.
So again, tune in this Sunday, Sept. 6th at 9 a.m. to my33’s “Focus On South Florida†to watch Mr. Bailey speak.
