Recently I was invited to Nike’s southeastern headquarters to preview their Nike Sportswear Spring 2009 Collection, which will be released via retailers on Saturday, April 4, 2009. I was greeted warmly by Nike’s incredible team and was shown the all new set of pieces and designs that will be available this quarter. Over the next week, we will do a 4-Part series of stories detailing the new collection, including photos and descriptions of the new products and some of the new technology that they incorporate. Here’s a schedule of what we will cover over the next week starting tomorrow…
Part One – We will go through a brief overview of the collection and take a photographic tour of the space and installation that demonstrated the new Spring 2009 Collection.
Part Two - We’ll take a look at the aptly titled, Skinny Dunk. It has the basic elements of the classic Dunk, but made for women specifically to fit the shape of a woman’s foot.
Part Three – A historic recap and reintroduction of the Nike Cortez running shoe and the introduction of FlyWire Technology in the Cortez, as well as other products.
Part Four - We’ll take you through our Nike ID experience @ Nike’s southeastern headquarters – and wrap-up our 4-Part series with a couple final details and left-over pieces of information.

Pitbull along with Pharrell & The Neptunes, have landed the first single from the new Fast & Furious 4 (2009) movie soundtrack. The movie hits theaters on April 3rd. If you remember, one of Pitbull’s early breakout songs that went by the name of “Oye” was placed on the soundtrack of the original The Fast & The Furious (2001) . Spotted @ Ozone

A big shout out to Last Rights, Inc for supplying the 305 Magazine vendor table at DunkXchange earlier this month, with a couple giveaways to give out to the eventgoers. I have to tell you, we had the above shirt on the table for display (to give away later that evening) and I lost count at how many people inquired about and/or took pictures of it.
Obviously a play off the Miami Dolphins’ iconic logo - this is seriously one of the best and well-pieced Miami-related designs I’ve seen on a T-Shirt in a long time. The shirt should be available in May at various local retailers and hopefully a couple online retailers as well. I’m hearing that even though there may be a couple other colorways (black & white) of this shirt, they will be limited so keep your eyes on The305.com for more details of when and where to get.
This is a photo I took about a year and a half ago of local latin artist, Persona. We wanted that Little Havana vibe, so we took it in front of a fruit vendor truck and he sat down on a milkcrate. This is another one of my favorite photos because I used nothing but natural lighting and the use of primary colors (Red, Blue, Yellow) really made the photo “pop” persay.

Andre 3000, literally is one of my top 3 favorite rappers. Well, he got roped up for speeding this past weekend. Here’s what Allhiphop.Com reports: “…He [Andre 3000] was arrested outside of Atlanta on Saturday (March 28), for driving his 2007 Porsche Carrera at speeds so excessive (109 MPH) that police called him “an accident waiting to happen.” According to a report by local ABC-affiliate WSB-TV Monday afternoon (March 30), the Grammy Award winning rapper/actor was arrested by a member of the Henry County Police Department’s Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic Team early Saturday morning. The officer stated that he clocked Andre 3000, born Andre Benjamin, at 109 mph, 44 mph over the 65 mph speed limit along that stretch of I-75. He is scheduled to appear in court to face charges associated with the incident on April 29. Apparently Nick Cannon was on some publicity stunt asking for attention. I assume that in the picture above, he’s either screaming “I Love Miami” or “I Love Mimi”. I’m sure its the latter of the two since his girl Mimi probably paid for that nice little suit he has on. Nick was in town for a couple parties that went down over WMC week and is also in town to host the Miami taping of America’s Got Talent at the Jackie Gleason Theater. Via AccidentalSexiness

You’ve been waiting for it…and now we have it. Chopz The Intern The producer (from Power 96′s morning show) recorded a song over Asher Roth’s “I Love College”. However, he flipped it and turned it into an ode to Hialeah’s living mascots, the chonga. They filmed a music video and all that should be out soon. Enjoy..

I’ve been fiendin’ for these for a while and when I saw T from Da Bottom Clothing rock them during our photoshoot, that pretty much sealed the deal for me. They came out back in April 2007 as part of the “Old Love/New Love” BM pack. “BM” stands for “Beginning Moments”. I had to pay an inflated price due to the regular re-seller premium, but its all good. This is actually the first sneaker I’ve paid more than retail for…ever. So I’m a bit irritated right now, but it was worth it, it wasn’t too much higher than the original price. Look out for quite a few variations and colorways of the Jordan 1′s coming out in the coming weeks and months.

Dolce nightclub on was on fire last night. Poe Boy Entertainment, Atlantic Records and Artist Related brought the “1 World, 1 Flo” party to Souch Beach in celebration of the release of Flo-Rida’s new album R.O.O.T.S. All of Flo-Rida’s closest friends and supporters came out for a night of drinks, dancing and performances. The red carpet included guests such as Flava Flav, KD Aubert, Sean Kingston, DJ Irie, Pleasure P, DanjaHandz and more. And we’re giving you an exclusive photo-by-photo recap of the night. This ain’t hip-hop related to the least, but paris did cop a few tracks from Scott Storch back in the day so you know what, I’ll let it pass. According to RadarOnline.Com, Paris Hilton and her baseball player boyfriend Doug Reinhardt were involved in some kind of altercation at LIV located in the Fontainebleau hotel on Miami Beach. The website reports that Hilton approached the DJ booth around 3 in the morning to request a song and suddenly, a bodyguard near the DJ pushed Hilton. And upon seeing what was going on, Hilton’s boyfriend, Doug, raced to her defense. her boyfriend and the bodyguard got into it and the Dougie suffered a busted lip. Hotel security intervened and cops were called to the scene. ”I can’t believe someone would do this to us,” Hilton told RadarOnline.com. “It’s really scary.” The Fontainebleau had no comment. - Miami Herald
Wow. So I was cruising through UpNUpDaily’s blog site and ran into these sneak peak photos that David from UpnUp took of the new jewelry pieces that Dade Wear will be releasing in the coming weeks. All I can say is, “wow”. I’m seriously getting a few of these. Officially copped.

ART FOR LIFE MIAMI BEACH is looking to be a yearly staple in Miami’s string of cultural events. Thanks to Russell Simmons and Danny Simmons (aka Rev Run), their Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation put together a great event for 2009 that lived up to the bar set by the 2008 showing of the annual gala. Kim Kardashian hosted, while many familiar faces passed by to show their support for the foundation’s efforts. Colombian hottie Sofia Vergara will play a number of Miami dates as the character “mama” in the Tony-award winning stage play Chicago. Sofia is set to play the role from May 26-31 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami – as well as several New York showings from late April till about the first week of June. As soon as her stint on Chicago ends, Sofia will then continue to work on “another” TV pilot of ABC for the show “An American Family”. You might remember Sofia on her other ABC show that had her play a real estate agent. Even though that show came out at a time when real estate prices were soaring, the show failed to get the same momentum and quickly got cancelled.
