I just happened to come across this thread and I have to say that I was deeply disturbed by the comments here. First of all, being Italian does not indicate your ethnic background. There are black Italian people and white Italian people and people of other races who are also Italian. Italy is a PLACE not an ethnic background. Second, Being from Cape Verde is the same as being Italian – you can be white, black or another race and still be a citizen of Cape Verde. I’m surprised that so many people commenting here don’t understand the difference.
