Crooks & Castles and Mojo Laboratories teamed up for a stylish new series of USB Flash Drives. No release date announced but this flash drive is just simply dope. I’m sure someone out there in technology land has come up with something similar, but I think the “Crooks & Castle” association makes it just a couple notches cooler. There’s also a Hellz Bellz drive, which is more like a japanese looking box or something. Not important. This bullet one is the winner of the two. Stay tuned for more info.

Interview with founder of women’s brand, Hellz Bellz. She started off desiging for Rocawear and in short, being limited there she expanded to create her own brand. Definitely a dope interview for all you upcoming designers whether male or female.

If you don’t know Banksy, well he’s probably one of the most famous street artists in the world…if not, THE most famous. In a nutshell for everyone who doesn’t follow him, Banksy is essentially a stencil artist who puts these pices and sometimes impossible stencils in the most public places. In the midst of security cameras and possibly tons of witnesses, he manages to escape being spotted and puts up his pieces like its as easy as Apple Pie. And at times, the artwork on the buildings that he tags his work on, become worth more than the building itself. People have removed big chunks of wall with Banksy pieces to be able to sell that wall to the highest bidder. Well here’s a couple pieces that Banksy managed to pull off during what we assume is a recent stay in New Orleans. And when you say “New Orleans”, you might guess that most people immediately think Katrina + Bushed-Fucked-Up. Perfect fuel for Banksy to create some timeless stencils. More photos of the New Orleans material after the jump…

I think rappers and urban artists, whether English or Spanish speaking, should stay the fuck out of politics. Especially when being for Obama is the “in” thing, dudes need to either join the bandwagon or prepare to get attacked by the angry mob if you speak up against the popular stance. But with that, Daddy Yankee earned himself a spot in another edition of When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong. And Fat Joe made sure that he put his Puerto Rican compadre out there to hang dry.
In regards to Daddy Yankee’s recent controversial “endorsement” of John McCain, Fat Joe had this to say to MTV:
“Just like that! I gotta go in. I’m talking to little cousins that like [Yankee] and all that, and they’re starting to believe that John McCain is [the best candidate]. I can’t have that.
“I opened the newspaper and got sick to my stomach,” Joe continued. “I felt like I wanted to vomit when I seen that. The reason why I called him a sellout is because I feel he did that for a [publicity] look, rather than the issues that are affecting his people that look up to him. How could you want John McCain in office when George Bush and the Republicans already have half a million people losing their homes in foreclosure? We’re fighting an unjust war. It’s the Latinos and black kids up in the frontlines, fighting that war. … We over here trying to take the troops out of Iraq and bring peace. This guy immediately wants war. If not with Iraq or Afghanistan, he’ll start a new one with Iran. I feel real disgusted that Daddy Yankee would do that. Either he did that for a look, or he’s just not educated on politics.”

Congratulations are in order for Culture Kings who are celebrating their two-year anniversary since opening up shop back in August of 2006. And they put it best by emphasizing that “wannabe boutiques opened and closed…and seen our niche become more and more popular as it was embraced by pop culture…but, 18 events, 16 magazine articles, and 8 television features later and we are still here!”. Much success fellaz!

Fuck hip-hop artists. Katy Perry is my favorite artist right now. She’s hot. She says what she wants. And she probably has more street cred than most of the rappers out there today. Okay, maybe that’s a stretch but listen to this interview she did today with Elvis Duran and The Y Morning Zoo. She discusses her various uncomfortable topics and also discloses what the first thing she’s going to buy when she gets that first residual check from her record label. Oh, and she also does an acoustic performance on the spot of her latest single “Hot And Cold”. You may want to skip 3/4’s through the audio to listen to that. Holla

UPDATE 5:30PM: And click below to see a video of Katy Perry offering up her time to get her 32DD chest ”molded” for a breast cancer benefit. Supposably, her boyfriend Travis “Lucky Sumbitch” McCoy (from Gym Class Heroes fame) will decorate and paint it before it goes off for auction. “Can’t mess with the 32DD’s”

Another Show Magazine female. Yeah. More pictures after the jump. Spotted over at Kanye’s Blog

Whoah. Its been a while since we all heard a Lil’ Jon beat. I’m sure that’s mostly to do with the TVT shananigans that were going on over the last two or three years. Either way, here’s the most recent Pitbull & Lil Jon collaberation entitled “Krazy”. The production is a bit different. Way different. A little cartoonish and trance-ish. That should be expected as Lil Jon did kind of put himself in a box as far as production and he’s always emphasized that he’s taking a new direction with music after his much public altercation with Scott Storch over Scottie “supposably” biting Jon’s entire production sound and style. As for Pitbull. He doesn’t stray far from his comfort zone as far as the hook, but the content of the versus are decent. And its a playful song, so he uses that to make a couple comparisons to how “krazy” things can get. Peep it below.

Whether he’s working on a wall, a canvas, or in the digital realm, Dekal’s pieces jump out at you. Sometimes they tell stories of betrayal or illustrate just how heavy the world can weigh on your mind, but when Dekal’s not busy telling stories, he’s showing you the world in a new light. A light that he’s meticulously crafted over the years and is uniquely his own.
As you’ll discover, Dekal is not one to hold his tongue, but why should he? His work is raising the bar for South Florida’s emerging art scene and in the end, we’re better off for it.
I for one love a good fight – YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!!
UPDATE: Its fake

In 1992 the United States Men’s Olympic Basketball team was what is considered one of the greatest teams in history. The “Dream Team” included the greats of the time: Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Christian Laettner, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, John Stockton with coach Chuck Daly at the helm. This team was not to be taken likely or undermined by anyone. They breezed through the competition and brought home the gold.
Never failing to well, fail – John Legend comes through with an amazing song and video for his newest single “Green Light”. Even though this 3000-cameo seems a little stale, I’m sure this song will be a bonafied hit to the appropiate crowds since it gives a little something for the R&B lovers and then gives a liuttle something for the ATL-loyalists that have been following Outkast for a decade plus.

You should know by now that I appreciate photography more than the next man since I’m a photographer myself. So I thought I’d put ya’ll on to one of the most timeless photos taken in the 1940’s taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt in New York CIty when World War II ended.
This photo is called “The Kiss” where a young sailor is caught in the moment of kissing or “swooing” a young nurse. Even though you may think these two love birds have been at it for years, they never met before this picture taken. And its said that she slapped him immediately after he kissed her. Oh and its also said that he was kissing ever girl that he ran into so maybe that takes a little away from this photo. But regardless, its a timeless photo that did serve as a visual representation of the conclusion of one of the deadliest periods in world history.

I’ve been hearing the buzz about MAP magazine for months and I never got a chance to see a physical copy of the issue. A couple weeks back at Rock The Bells, I was able to sneak in the artist tent where I proceeded to help myself to a couple cans of Sprite and a couple copies of MAP magazines that were left out for the artists to read.
Anyways, so all these weeks since Rock The Bells and I still hadn’t looked at the magazine till I was at the office a couple nights ago. I was really surprised at the quality and the direction of the magazine. Its well written. Its colorful. And its photography is amazingly crisp and well directed. My favorite photograph was the Mike Edison photo where some random ass-nekid women is laying on top of him (pictured below and shot by Eric Ray Davidson).
I definitely see big things for MAP in the coming future as they just have that “it-factor”. Its something that can’t really be described in words – you just have to see the magazine to see what I mean. So support your local 305 businesses and subscribe to MAP magazine by visiting www.themapmag.com

Damn. Another honey courtesy of Black Jack Skanz. From my favorite magazine, Show Magazine…Karma. I’ve always hated saying the term “after the jump”, but I think its caught on to broadly that I have to start using it. So, more pictures after the jump. They’re PG-13 but show some skin…so…all my 9-to-5′ers, beware. Its borderline safe-for-work. Click below…

Only in Mall Of The Americas can something like this go down unseen. Wow. And shout out to all the news anchors who all seem like they smoked a little something right before the top of the hour. My homie, the weatherman said “no wonder the food court was pulling record sales lately…”

Not your typical T.I., but the song is catching more and more plays and is the apparent official single to hopefully blast T.I. back to success after his well-publicized ordeal with the gun charges. Let’s see if he pulls them Lil Wayne numbers on his first week.
Produced by Miami’s own Jim Jonsin.
