Jamaica’s Emancipation Weekend will be amplified by South Florida’s DJ GQ at both all exclusive parties—Daydreams and Spiritz.

July 29, 2008—Ft. Lauderdale—South Florida’s very own DJ GQ is taking center stage in Jamaica for Emancipation Weekend, also known as Jamaica’s Independence Day falling on August 1st. With GQ’s solid credentials and flourishing success, Emancipation Weekend will never be the same after the weekend is over. His unique style of ‘reggae on hip-hop’ invades Jamaica to celebrate this party weekend.

Daydreams’ all-white and all-exclusive South Beach edition party marks the beginning of the highly anticipated weekend starting at noon and lasting until 1:00am at Long Bay Beach in Negril. Alongside DJ GQ headlining this all-white affair is Miami’s Bambino, as well as Jamaica’s Kurt Riley and Coppershot. This experience is one not to be missed hosted by Red Stripe.

“Jamaican party goers love their music and we know that the boss GQ will be able to fuse the hip hop and dancehall, and bring Daydreams to a new high.” –PJ Wright, Daydreams coordinator.

The party continues still at Spiritz, which is held at the notorious Rick’s Café, also in Negril. This pool and ocean encounter, which is also all-exclusive, starts at 8:00pm featuring DJ GQ as well as Jamaica’s DJ Liquid.

With DJ GQ’s busy schedule, he still has time between his guest appearances on BET’s Rap City, DUB Magazine Car Shows, and his five-nights-a-week residencies. He also keeps a personal and reputable standing with MySpace as one of their official DJs and continues to be a special guest on their shows. Past shows include artists T.I., Lupe Fiasco, Damian and Stephen Marley, and Three 6 Mafia.

About DJ GQ: DJ GQ is one of the first DJs to pioneer the infectious blends of Reggae and Hip-Hop. From a sponsored DJ since the age of 14, DJ GQ has gone on to be the official DJ for Kevin Lyttle, Pee Wee Kirkland, Mr. Cheeks, Akon, Mr. Vegas, and more. Praises for his over 300k distributed “GQ” mixtapes have graced publications such as USA Today, OkayPlayer.com, The New Times and The Source Magazine. With all the titles mentioned, he still manages to be the “King of Clubz” with local DJ residencies 5 days out of the week, not including DJ spot dates around the world for clients such as Myspace.com, NASDAQ and the DUB Custom Car Shows. Currently he is completing, “Let ‘Em Know- The Album”, coming out soon.
