Kev Marcus and Wil-B have traveled the world as Black Violin. Performing with Linkin Park’s lead singer Mike Shinoda, Diddy, Alicia Keys, Lil’ Kim, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Brooke Hogan to name a few.

Both musicians attended are from Broward County, Florida and both attended Dillard High School Of Performing Arts. Since their conception, they have taken Hip-Hop into a different realm that we’re not traditionally use to. They’ve been influenced by a huge cataloge of music, but late jazz musician Stuff Smith is who changed their perspective on what the violin is really capable of. Smith recorded one of his most soulful albums called Black Violin six months before he passed away. His life’s work was so moving that the duo decided to name their group after the most inspiring violinist they had ever heard.

Black Violin is currently touring with the Rock The Bells tour this year for a second year in a row, which is set to make its Miami stop at Bicentennial Park on Saturday, August 2, 2008. At last year’s Rock The Bells show, they rocked the stage with Supernatural. What a show! Who knows what they have planned this time around.
