Congratulations to Shonie! She’s now officially part of the Slip-N-Slide family…

ShonieWe just got word that Shonie has officially signed to Slip-N-Slide Records. At press time, it seems that the talk is that Shonie may go through Def Jam, Jive or Atlantic for distribution, which is expected as Rick Ross, Qwote and Trina/Plies have gone those respective routes.

The signing was official as of yesterday May 6, 2008. Shonie is one of the most talented artists that we’ve run into since starting The305.Com. She was actually one of our “Songs Of The Month” back in late 2003 when we first ran into her music. At the time she was about 14. And since then, she’s grown into an even more talented young woman and we expect nothing but big things from her. Her sultry voice is magnified by her intense skills in songwriting. She’s already acquired quite a few writing credits to her name.

Once again, a big congrats to Shonie and the entire Slick Salt fam. And special shout out to J Roc.

Check out this mixtape cut/rework from her 2006 mixtape, Street Heat. Its a play off Rick Ross’ “Blow”…
