A quick photo recap of everybody that made it out. Shout outs to Dynas, SIRE Esq., DJ Spinna, Pancho, Virgil (Revolution Hip Hop) and everybody else that I saw out there.

I’m definitely loving this cover. Trina is looking sexy as hell. Make sure you go out to your local Best Buy Brandsmart and pick up a copy of Still Da Baddest. I say Brandsmart because she’s going to be at the Palmetto Bay (Cutler Ridge) one this Tuesday April 1st signing autographs from 2PM till 4PM. And then immediately after, she’s gonna hop on the Palmetto Expressway northbound and get off in Carol City for another signing in the Brandsmart by NW 167th Street from 6PM to 8PM. DJ Khaled and K. Foxx will be by her side during the Carol City signing.
So, support the Diamond Princess on this festive occasion. Cop That. And listen to the next single below. Shout out to Slick Salt Entertainment and Golden Chyld Productions.

So. I was invited to go out to the Kid Robot grand opening on South Beach back in November. For whatever the reason, I wasn’t able to make it. And by not making it, I missed out on getting one of these 305 Skullhead Dunnies, exclusively made and signed by Huck Gee. Something to the extent of Vice City Color Dunny is what I’ve heard them to be called also. The problem – only 305 of them were made specifically for this opening. I saw a couple people re-selling them on Ebay and even on Craigslist for atleast $305. Yeah, you heard right, $305.00 dollars. I am not to sure that that’s what it’s worth, but if you run into one of these, keep it and immediately come back to The305.com and email me your overly inflated asking price and I’ll get back to you and we’ll see if we can make a deal happen. Every true three-oh-fiver needs one of these 305 Dunnies in their collection. Holla.

Shout out to Virgil up at Revolution Hip-Hop...this should be a real dope night! Doors open @ 10PM. Click below to see more details and the rest of the flyer.

Just thought I’d keep it trill for a second and let you know that Plies will be releasing his second album a little bit sooner than expected. Shout out to Slip-N-Slide. ‘08 is looking like its going to be a big year for Ted Lucas and the family. Look out for Miami’s next R&B sensation, Qwote. But back to the topic at hand. Here’s the press release courtesy of Atlantic Records
New York, NY – Responding to popular demand, Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic recording artist Plies has announced plans to speed up the release of his hugely anticipated new album, Definition Of Real. The collection — which features the hit single, “Bust It Baby, Part 2 (Feat. Ne-Yo)” will now drop into stores and online retailers on June 10th.
“Bust It Baby, Part 2 (Feat. Ne-Yo)” is blowing up at Urban radio outlets nationwide, where it just bulleted its way onto the airplay top 40. In addition, the single is currently rising towards chart status at Rhythmic. The track’s mainstream success follows the recent underground popularity of the single’s first installment, “Bust It Baby, Part 1.” The single will go on sale this Tuesday, March 25th via all DSPs.
Definition Of Real arrives hot on the heels of the Ft. Myers, Florida-bred rapper’s 2007 debut, The Real Testament, which has received RIAA gold certification. The album — featuring the blockbuster hit singles, “Shawty (Feat. T-Pain)” and “Hypnotized (Feat. Akon)” — entered the Billboard 200 at #2 upon its release last summer and continues to run strong, coming in this week at #13 on Billboard’s “Top Rap Albums” ranking. In addition, The Real Testament has spawned a series of smash hit ringtones, with six tracks from the album currently present on Nielsen RingScan’s “Top 200 Mastertones” chart.
Plies is currently featured on the cover of Don Diva Magazine, heralding their partnership on the upcoming “Plies/Don Diva Prison Tour.” Further details of Plies’ historic pairing with the “Original Street Bible” will be announced shortly.

In the frontlines of Coconut Grove and Little Havana, you can find lifestyle boutique Invazion tightly knit into its corner store location off of US-1. To label the establishment as unique is simply an undeserved understatement. The floor-hugging red couch, the stacked inventory and the larger-than-life windows are just some of the elements that create the distinction between Invazion, and any other urban boutique.

Ran into this song the other day. Its from an electrofunk group called Chromeo. From what I understand, they’re from Montreal and New York. This ain’t for everybody. But what I liked about the song was that its definitely nostalgic, yet at the same time its on some nexx shit. Weird, I know. Lucy Lopez at Power 96 played this joint with DJ Zog and she “claims” to have discovered the song. Slow your role, Lucy. Either way here you go. And since I know most of you guys are some hatin-ass-people, feel free to leave all hateful comments and opinions below.

Check out Chromeo up and around Miami the next few days during this year’s Winter Music Conference 2008 (WMC) festivities. I believe Remix Magazine’s Remix Hotel was one of their main appearances/gigs.
Fellow Miamian Flo-Rida teamed up Timbaland to create the video for the much anticipated second single to Flo-Rida’s album Mail On Sunday. Gil Green stands forth as the director of this piece and creates a visually appealing representation of Ele-ah-elevatah’. You got Christina Milian smilin’ in the cut and you got the 305 regulars reppin’ on the cameo tip. Then they had to throw in da’ cougar at the end FTMFW. Holla.

Occasionally we’ll drop a couple shots of street art that we see around the city. This is a short post, but expect more in-depth work in the future with more pictures in each post. If you have any idea who created these works, drop a comment and we’ll give proper credit. Look out for more in the future. Submissions, send to miamihiphop@gmail.com.

Its been a minute since Esther Baxter left the modeling game and returned back to being a model citizen away from the limelight. But the male population has been hurting ever since. She was the illest chick in the game for a good number of years. I ran into this website called Esther 4 Sho’ that did a decent job of summarizing her career via the ever-so-appropriate picture shrine. Here’s the link. (http://esther.el.cx/)
And below. Right from XXL’s Eye Candy Of The Year Issue (2006), are a couple of my favorite pictures of Miss Baxter. Amazing Photography courtesy of Charlie Langella.

Rarely does an event keep culture and enjoyment solidified for 9 hours straight. But Soulfrito did just that and more. Featuring performances from Garcia, Platano, Fulanito, Notch, Nina Sky, Tony Touch, Winsin & Yandel and La India, Soulfrito’s 4th Annual event was a great day for Latinos to put their ‘lightahs’ up to their heritage and represent that of what’s in their blood. And Soulfrito 2005 cannot go spoken of without mentioning hosts Angie Martinez & Fatman Scoop who emceed the majority of the night with an authentic 212 flava’. Much respect to Melissa Giles and the Soulfrito & Misto L.E.S. crew for once again representing the city and all of Latin culture.
